This one's easier to just talk about here. It started off as an autocross toy, but the flat-six took a shit and turned out to cost way more than it was worth to replace. So, an engine swap was the obvious choice. 2.0 TDI and Audi V8 swaps are sorta common in these. So, fuck that. LS swaps are common in everything else. So, fuck that too. If I'm gonna put in this much work, I want it to be different. By chance, I found out the Maserati QTP uses the same engine found in the Ferrari California, 430, and 458, minus the flat-plane crank. Turns out, the Maserati variants are pretty cheap on eBay. So, that's how that happened.
