Designed by Italian coachbuilder Fissoré and Trevor Fioré for TVR in 1965, the Trident was meant to be their opulent grand tourer but after their company was sold, the Trident was taken and turned into an independent car manufacturer in 1966.

In 1967 14 prototypes were made for testing before in 1969 the main production run commenced and lasted until 1974 where just 85 cars were built total across 3 model variants. The V8 Clipper, V6 Venturer and I6 Tycoon.

This particular car is prototype number 12 and is being built to "Clipper" specifications. With a 330hp 302 Ford small block V8, Tremec T5 and fully restored bodywork by Richard Hammond's workshop, The Smallest Cog.

It is expected to be completed some time in 2025 for the 50th anniversary.
